Mike is a native San Diegan, and has spent time in New England and the Midwest before moving back to San Diego in 2003. His professional career has been in manufacturing, but has always dabbled in the arts since high school. He started working with fractals in 1996. His latest fractal composites, shown on this site, are first generated from a single fractal equation set at a single location in a freeware program called Fractal Explorer, generating sometimes over a hundred separate fractal images using different color pallets, filters, and transformation functions from that set/location, and combining the resulting images in Photoshop using Photoshop's unique layer filtering system.
