About the Artist

Artist Statement: Born and raised in San Francisco, I attended the Academy of Art University. I took the traditional classes of editorial illustration, design, portrait & still life painting, life drawing and photography. Upon graduation, I became employed at the Radiological Defense Laboratory as a technical illustrator. When the laboratory closed, I was transferred to San Diego to the Naval Ocean Systems Center at Point Loma, working in Oceanography, and became supervisor of the graphic art & design department. Upon retirement, we moved to Sedona, Arizona where we lived for 7 years. We came back to a Del Webb Sun City community in Lincoln, California for another 6 years. Upon our children's request, we returned to San Diego in June 2008.

I was very fortunate to be employed at a time when computer technology changed the environment in the workplace, and the computer became the obvious choice to replace the drawing board in graphic design. I believe that now, more than ever, the computer is the future of art. The energy created in digital art produces creative surfaces of elaborate colors and elegant textures that are layered and transparent.
