Volunteer Help Needed!

The LJAA members are encouraged to earn Volunteer Hours by volunteering for the LJAA. You will need Volunteer Hours to be able to exhibit in LJAA gallery. This is the list of the opportunities currently available:

• Demonstrators for the Share Your Art program

  We are looking for those of you who would like to donate an hour or two of their time and offer a free demonstration on the 4th Saturday of each month starting at 10:30 am at the LJAA Gallery. You do not have to be an experienced instructor. If you have something to share, we love to have you as a demonstrator. You will also earn 1VH per hour of your work including the prep time. Share your unique art technique skills and information with fellow artists and friends. (Non-member artists are also welcome to volunteer for this opportunity.)

• Art Class Instructors

  We are looking for art instructors for adult classes and kid's classes. The art classes would be held at the LJAA Gallery in the future. If you are interested in, please contact Catherine MacDonald, the Art Classes Coordinator, at classes@lajollaart.org.

• Helpers for the Art Classes Coordinator

  Art Classes Coordinator is looking for members who are interested in helping her work. (Earn 1 hour = 1 VH) Please contact Catherine MacDonald, the Art Classes Coordinator, at classes@lajollaart.org.

  Need art supplies for the Kid's Art Program for 5-18 year olds

  LJAA is planning to give art classes and Kid's Art events at the gallery and elsewhere. All members can help in making this program successful. You can help by donating the art supplies. Please contact Catherine MacDonald, the Art Classes Coordinator, at classes@lajollaart.org.

Board Members and Assistants wanted!

• Exhibition Director (Board member)

  Schedules all exhibitions in the gallery. Develops exhibition opportunities inside and outside of the gallery. Has responsibility of exhibition guidelines, security & Gallery Rules.

• Membership Director (Board member)

  Maintain a membership roster, taking care of new membership application, and a membership renewal.

• Newsletter Editor

  Publishes a monthly e-newsletter. Collects information for dissemination to the LJAA membership. Writes articles and may take photographs for publication in the newsletter.

• Constant Contact Email Service Assistants

  We need a few more volunteer members who assist Constant Contact e-mail announcement operation. The Committee needs volunteers to keep the email addresses current and help with proof reading and create press releases. Please contact: Sharon Ford at email address if you are interested.

• Webmaster (Board member)

  Maintain and update the LJAA website and database. Certain basic knowledge of HTML, PhP and SQL desirable. The current webmaster Mike Morse (webmaster@lajollaarat.org) will train and help you get started.
